Guide to symbols:
Means vegetarian, though may have egg/dairy products in it. I may add a vegan sign when I am clear what to define that as. We might have a vegan recipes source, but that is still in the pipeline
Contains fish. This is for the benefit of those who are almost vegetarian and also to warn the hard-core meat eaters.
Contains chicken. This is for the benefit of those who are almost vegetarian and because I have suddenly become addicted to clip-art.
Contains sausages. This icon is entirely unnecessary as these recipes are in their own category. That's the problem with clip-art. You are given it free at first, then you can't get enough of it.
Contains bacon, one of the ESSENTIAL ingredients for your larder.
Contains meat in non-sausage/bacon form.
This is a potato with a chef's hat on. This is me trying to claim we have more vegetarian recipes than we do. I mean, these are recipes that can easily be made without the meat ingredients.
This is a non-alcoholic drink. I wasn't going to have this icon, only the master chef stopped me using the vegetarian symbol for drinks. I felt that since they didn't contain meat, it still counted. I was over-ruled.
This is an alcoholic drink. There are simply not enough of these on the web site at the moment. Admittedly mostly I drink beer, which I am not planning to hold the recipe for here, but come on people, send in those cocktail recipes.
The master chef is getting quite annoyed with the number of icons now, but she told me to remove the vegetarian symbol from the desserts and bakery now so this is why these 2 are here.
This represents baked food. I am getting quite bored of this myself now. So this really will be the last icon.
