Traditional Italian SauceThe great thing about this sauce is that you can use it as the base for so many different recipes. The key to an excellent tomato sauce is TIME. Cook it for at least 40 minutes for total deliciousness.Ingredients:Serves: 3-4
Heat oil in saucepan. Add onion and garlic. Fry gently until soft. Add canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, bay leaf and red wine (if you are adding it). Stir well. Add salt & pepper and herbs. Simmer gently. Cover and let the magic happen (40 minutes min.) Serve with:Or add tuna just before serving. Serve with spaghetti & parmesan cheese. |
