Meatballs

Meatballs Another hearty weekday meal that is also suitable as a starter (except that your guests will have to use cock tail sticks to dip their 'balls' into the sauce).

Ingredients:

  • 1 finely chopped small onion
  • 1 chopped clove of garlic
  • 400 - 500 g mince (lamb, pork, beef)
  • 1 tblsp sweet chilli sauce
  • 100 g of fresh bread crumbs
  • Plain flour to coat
  • Olive oil

Instructions

Meatballs Mix all ingredients together (apart from olive oil) using clean hands. Form into small balls (about the size of a walnut). Coat lightly in flour.

Gently fry meatballs in heated olive oil in frypan. Keep turning. If adding to tomato sauce, remove after about 6 minutes, drain on absorbent towel and add to saucepan. Continue to cook on simmer heat with lid on.

If serving the meatballs as a party snack, they must be cooked through which means keep them in the frypan, gently turning (use a spoon for this) for about 10 - 12 minutes. Drain on paper towel. Have a dipping sauce ready to go.

Can also be served as a main with Perfect Italian Sauce
