This recipe was sent in by Darren Gibson. A visit to the local Asian supermarket will secure the vital ingredients of ghee, dharja & jeera.

Ingredients:

  • 1 onion
  • 1 tblsp ghee
  • 5 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teasponos dharja
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder (or more to taste)
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons jeera
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 3 table spoons tomato puree
  • 1 lb chopped turkey, chicken, or pork
  • 2 potatoes cut into 2 cm squares

Instructions

  1. Fry one onion until VERY soft
  2. Add spices and vinegar mix. Fry for 10 minutes on a gentle heat
  3. Add meat and potatoes. Cook for 20 minutes.
  4. Serve with any of the following: rice, chapatis, naan, raita, sliced banana in shredded coconut.
